TIG Aesthetics Quick Disconnect Shower Head Diffuser – Laminar Argon Control & Secure QD Interface
The TIG Aesthetics Quick Disconnect (QD) Shower Head Diffuser is a precision-engineered argon purge fitting designed to dramatically improve purge efficiency, eliminate turbulence, and increase reliability during TIG welding. By adding an additional layer of diffusion inside the purge plug, this diffuser promotes smooth, laminar argon flow throughout the weldment.
At the core of the design are six horizontally opposed, precision CNC-machined outlet ports. These ports distribute argon evenly and gently, preventing high-velocity gas streams that disrupt the purge environment. The result is non-disruptive, uniform gas coverage that improves internal weld quality while maximizing argon efficiency.
The QD Shower Head Diffuser is fully compatible with the TIG Aesthetics Quick Disconnect system and other "Rectus Type-20 style fittings", making it a seamless upgrade for existing purge setups. In addition to improved gas diffusion, this fitting is designed to help prevent accidental hose disconnection during welding and part repositioning. Eliminating one of the most common causes of purge interruption and oxidation.
Machined from solid CP2 titanium, the diffuser offers an ideal balance of ultra-lightweight construction, heat resistance, and long-term durability. Titanium was selected specifically to prevent oxidation and contamination inside the weldment while maintaining structural integrity in high-heat environments. Built with ruggedness in mind, the diffuser is designed as a lifetime component and can be transferred into new TIG Aesthetics silicone purge plugs as older plugs wear. Eliminating the need to replace fittings.
The QD Shower Head Diffuser is engineered to work with all TIG Aesthetics Silicone Purge Plugs, excluding the 1" tube plug, providing broad compatibility across tube and pipe welding applications.
Installation
- Remove the mesh diffuser from the silicone purge plug
- Insert the Shower Head Diffuser through the gas inlet hole from the inside of the plug
- Reinstall the mesh diffuser over the top, capturing the fitting securely inside the plug
